World Cinema Open Air

It has always been a successful part of the festival: World Cinema Open Air. And no wonder, for it is of course very nice to see a film outdoors in a warm Summer evening. Especially if it is a brand new film! As soon as the Sun sets, around 21.30h, the film will start. This year World Cinema Amsterdam will show four films in its Open Air programme: BLANKA, ROAD TO LA PAZ (CAMINO A LA PAZ), THE NEW CLASSMATE and THE AFRICAN DOCTOR.

Come join us at the various screenings in the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre (August 5, 6, 12 and 13) and the Marie Heinekenplein (August 24 – 27).

Please note:  Access to the open air screenings at the Vondelpark and the Marie Heinekenplein is free, yet all voluntary donations are very welcomed!

And if you missed some of the films… no worries! World Cinema Amsterdam in collaboration with On the Roof Film Festival (September 6 – 9) will present four titles of our seventh edition’s programme that will also be screened in the open air on the roof of the VU’s main building.
