World Cinema Amsterdam is Rialto's film festival that takes you to Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean every year. The many beautiful films, often made by young directors, offer you an unforgetable view on life in all these parts of the world.
WCA each year offers an exhilarating competition program in wich nine nominated films compete for the World Cinema Jury Award. There are also Special Screening, Open Air screenings and of course our Focus Program. Each year the festival zooms in on the cinema of a specific country or region. In 2018 this program focused on Cuba, in 2019 on Indonesia, in 2021 we focussed on Sub-Sahara Africa and in 2022 we will focus on Chili.
Apart from all these films, there is a lot more to experience during the festival: Q&A's, good food, talk shows, live performances and last but not least: parties.
