The chef of Indonesia
Ron Gastrobar Indonesia, located in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, is the third of the Gastrobar family. The inspiration for Indonesia's cuisine is a combination of love for Indonesian and Indian cuisine and the typical ambiance of the Gastrobar.
The chef of Indonesia, Agus Hermawan, was born in Java. His mother taught him how to cook. About 20 years ago he started to work in Indonesian cuisine in the Netherlands. Now he is the chef at Ron Gastrobar Indonesia. He knows how to transform typical Indonesian dishes into an exciting modern dish with a hint to his native country.
First of all, Ron Gastrobar Indonesia has the typical Indonesian rice table as its signature dish. The shared dining concept emerges with the rice table.

Accessibility, good service and competitive price-quality ratio are key elements of Ron Gastrobar. So also during our festival! We offer various menus (more on that later!) with something tasty for everyone, for €12,50 only.
Every year we offer a focus programme with films from one specific country or region. As said, this year it’s Indonesia. In this programme we offer feature films, documentaries and short films by talented young makers. The focus programme showcases the current state of affairs in Indonesian cinema, and is curated together with Indonesian programmers and filmmakers.
