Marcel Beltrán's Option Zero to be seen at IDFA

supported by GO CUBA!

Cuban director Marcel Beltrán is no stranger to Rialto. In 2016 his short film Casa de la noche was screened during World Cinema Amsterdam, in 2018 his documentary El desaparecido was screened in Rialto, then still a work-in-progress, also during WCA. Both times Beltrán was a guest in Rialto, in 2018 he was also a jury member. He made these two films partly thanks to GO CUBA !, the fund set up by WCA that supports talented, independent Cuban filmmakers financially.

Beltrán has made a new documentary: Option Zero. In this film, he portrays what Cuban refugees go through, trying to reach the US via Guyana, Colombia and Central America - a perilous undertaking. This impressive film, again co-produced with the support of GO CUBA! has its world premiere at the upcoming IDFA. Check their site for screening dates.
